On this brisk Tuesday morning whilst walking across the racecourse, Sowerby sports village and the cobbles of Thirsk market place, the sun never really made an appearance. The long front gardens and the lack of boundary features such as fences or walls between them gives Belgrave Terrace a distinctive and spacious setting which contrasts with the more tight knit form of development on the main roads. The properties are located within a primarily residential area known as Sowerby Town End. Made of Victorian red brick and slate terrace the terrace runs at right angles to and between Sowerby Road and Topcliffe Road. As well as a complete overhaul of the elevations, including new windows and roof, the finishing touches are to be the replacement of the railings, street frontage and door.
